Great rocks and water! Love your rock paintings!
Well... I think they are gorgeous.. want to dip my toes in... maybe a little chilly though ;o)
Wow, thanks folks! Such nice compliments! You have really made my day!
Caryl, this is the second time I have tried rocks with water and I really like doing it. I go from photos I have taken and I do a value painting first. Then I just paint the underwater rocks in as loose blobs and put on a number of layers of close, but different colours. and varying values. Then I paint what you would probably call a glaze (watered down acrylic?) over it all. Then I paint the dry rocks and finally I add the little highlights on the water.
Tammy... I am curious to know? when painting rocks or sand under water like Richard did with the recent challenge ... how do you tackle the under water part? I am completely ???? You have really captured that flowing water and each rock has a different texture... really incredible. I have just noticed that it is acrylic... I thought it was pastel !
I agree with Trevor!!!!!! : ))
The water is amazing! smiles : ))
I love the black rock... makes me want to pick it up.
got the water, well done
