Thank you Ian for your comment. Do appreciate. And also a thank you to all who have commented on this one.
Hello Michael, yes you are right as Maori legends say a couple of things, one that Lake TePuke in Takapuna (just over harbour bridge in Auckland) had an argument and threw it out of the lake and ended upside down in the harbour, another says a Maori carried it and threw it into the sea. You may like to view a little u-tube video on it from the beach in Auckland. An amazing walk up to the top, takes a while, but amazing views all around.
Amazing. I recognised Rangitoto from a painting I saw thirty years ago, painted by Bob Goldstone.. Abstract, actually. Something about the spirit of the place spoke to me. Do I have the right location?
Pandalana and Li.
Panalana, thank you for your comment on my clouds.
Li, appreciate your comments on this one. Yes, wondered about the distant colouring. Actually it is a volcano in the middle of Auckland Harbour, completely round when viewed from above. Posted prior to adding to it. As was deciding whether to do some shading, as you suggest, or perhaps give indication of the foliage. When completely dry shall see which one I prefer. Or, if neither works, will leave as is with slight indication of 'whatever'. Thank you.
Beautiful painting Jen! Beautiful cloud! One little thing I may suggest is to add a little dark blue at the base of the mountain and the shadow side to make it harmonic with the sky and water. But it is just my two cents. It looks wonderful as is.
The clouds are absolutely perfect!
Thank you for saying that Silvana. Actually 'peace' was part of wording for title which I was going to use, but decided on this wording instead.
Ths gives me peace...
