A seagull study from a photograph I took near our beaches in Crescent City, California. Taking my inspiration from Richard's seagulls, I decided to try and capture the light as he did in his paintings. Currently I am working on another one called "Bert" which I will upload soon. Medium: Acryllic, modeling paste mixed with matte finish slow dry gel for texture.

SOLD!
Good for you Jeri! They are great!
Yes! I've sold Bert and Ernie at the Studio 74 Gallery in Fresno, CA! Thanks to the new plein air group I belong to and Dianne who had the show and runs the studio.
I like this one very much, Jeri. The sepia tones are lovely, and I love the way the feathers mimic the bark pattern. And I agree with Jessica -- just a bit of the other leg would anchor it perfectly.
I really like this. The soft browns/ cool/warm. Good job
The light & colour are very beautiful! Just wondering - I'm sure the second leg is hidden behind the one we see, but it might look better if we could see a small hint of it anyway?
