    Hi Silvana -

Thanks for touching base, but I'm a bit confused.  I got an email from Richard some time ago that I didn't get into this project, so no I haven't done anything :-(  I would have loved to do a piece, but at this point I have little time and I don't want to hold anyone up.

    Hi Silvana,

Got your email, and I will also send Richard a comment. When I logged in, slice 26 is what was listed, but it looks like the slice is out of sequence, and done already.

Hi Silvana, gosh I am a bit confused. I did Slice-76 (piece 13). I was sure that was the number next to my name but tonight I looked and piece 76 (Slice-3). My Slice-76 was added to the puzzle. Anyway tonight I was all ready to do another one Slice-76(piece 13) when I see that someone else has done it. So it looks like it all turned out OK. Whew. This has been nerve racking as well as exciting. So proud to be part of it. Many thanks for your message.

Hi Sylvana. Thanks for accepting my friend request and your positive comments re my website. The video won't take long to view. It is just a two minute promo for my first DVD. The acrylics I use are Atelier Interactive and Arylamide is one of the yellows in their range. I use it because it is not as expensive as the cadmium yellows. I don't know what other paint brands use arylamide as a pigment.

  • Glenys Jones

I really like the colors in your painting Silvana. Good light in your paintings. Well Don!

  • Mary kopf

Thanks for the nice comment on my painting.  Regarding your paintings, I like how you put some color studies into some of them. I need to do that I think as color eludes me sometimes. You also have some great fotos.  Fun to see all your paintings and the colors you choose from the land of Argentina. Fun stuff! Keep it up.

  • Olivia O'Carra

  • Chuck Warner

Hello Silvana,  Thank you, I love to see elk in the wild, we have them in the area where our summer home is located.  Sometimes we see them walking through the yard. By doing some of the animals we have in that area, while still here in  the desert, I will have something to sell when I get up in the high country.  Maybe a squirrel or deer next...  Thanks again... Chuck  :)  XX   PS   yes those are shadows of my hands..hahhahahahha light was on behind me..  I'll have to be more careful next time   :)

  • Chuck Warner

Hi Silvana, Thank you!! I started painting when I retired at the age of 70, I am 76 now. I tried acrylics and oils, 6 months each and then watercolors and I was hooked. I fell in love with watercolors. I have been painting with w/c's now for 5 yrs and really enjoy w/c and ink, with watercolor wash. I found scratch art in Sept of last year while on a trip to the UK. When I returned at the end of Sept. I purchased materials and started scratching.. So far I've sold 5 of my pieces.. I am currently working on another leopard, but this one is lapping up water out of a small stream.. I am delighted to get to know you.. Chuck (Carlos) :) XX

  • Roena King

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my WIP rose painting in the Flemish method (the umber layer).  I appreciate it.    Silvana, the trick is to have more than one painting going at a time so while one is drying you still have something to paint on.  I have a thing that I think of..........I dont care how long a painting takes me, if it is the best thing I have ever done.  I just want to paint and so if I am painting on the same painting it makes no difference.....I am still painting.  I am not after quantity in #s of paintings finished, I am after quality of the best I can do.  Flemish has never let me down.....they are always superior to anything (other method) I have ever tried.

  • Chuck Warner

Hello Silvana,  thank you for your comment and thought.  Is scratch art painting, hmmmm  in a way it is.  When I have created my basic picture I then apply a light wash of watercolors and when it's dry I scratch again.  These steps are repeated until I am satisfied with the work.  Applying many watercolor washes to achieve the desired result is the same as I do in my watercolor works  and my ink and watercolor washes.  By numerous applications of w/c paint and re-scratching a certain texture and depth is achieved..  So, painting, yes and maybe no.   :)     But still a beautiful multi-media art piece can be had....   Chuck :)  XX

Silvana, I don't know why you can't comment on my work. I'm sure you have been able to before.  Do you know how I would fix that? Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  • Chuck Warner

Hello Silvana,  Muchas Gracias!!!  I am glad you enjoyed my 'nino' with is fishing pole.  I looked at your art and very much enjoy your style of painting.  I am basically a watercolorist but this past Sept while on a trip to the UK I met an artist who introduced me to scratch art and I fell in love with this medium.  It's excellent for furry animals and I do many pet portraits on commission..Again, thank you for commenting on my art..  Chuck (mismo de Carlos) Warner  :)  XX
