9" by 12" oil on canvas panel, plein air. Painted at McNear's Beach with Laura Xu this past Saturday. This was the third storm of the past few weeks with much needed rains and beautiful clouds as the stormfront moved eastward to dump some big time snow in the Sierras.

Thanks Laura, Ann, Jon and Cristina.  Jon, there was very little sheen on the wqter, because the water has a lot of sediment in it and the clouds blocked a lot of the blue sky.   The sediment comes down the rivers from the Sierras and we had just had 3 back to back rainstorms, so a lot of material washes down the creeks and rivers.   This part of the Bay is very shallow as well so the water is a dull brown, but in the sun it's a freen ochre color.  Stu
