Hi Fay, If it is cool light (which you have here), the shadows would normally be warm in relation to the cool light. On a sunny day where the light is warm, the shadows are usually cool in relation to the warm light. Now, you will find that a dark shadow ..say under a rock ..that is not influenced by any light ..will be warm ..no matter what. Overcast days are USUALLY cool light. North light is cool light.
Thank you Cristina and Michael. I really appreciate your feedback Michael - is the rule for warm shadows on a cool day and cool shadows on a warm day?
Beautiful grays Fay. I see you have chosen to make this a more cloudy day with diffused light? Remember, in this situation where you have cool light, your shadows would be warm.
Lovely work Fay!!
Thank you so much Ana.
It is a nice and warm feeling attached to it. Your brush strokes are really remarkable. I do admire you for it.
Thank you Jessica and Olivia.
Lovely Fay.
Thank you Laura, Saghi and Ann - painting loosely doesn't come naturally to me I'm afraid so I feel a bit out of my comfort zone but I'm so enjoying Richard's lessons.
Lovely painting
