Thanks Ann. I don't use a portrait format very often for plein air, but when Michael, Laura and I decided to paint that point from the beach, that tall foreground tree just begged me for emphasis. Funny how we can each see something different when we look at the same scene. Laura was focused on the shapes and value massing; Michael went for emphasizing the atmospheric perspective; and I saw a tree portrait. Fun to be out painting together and to share all this. Stu

Thanks Laura.   Yes, I have had some practice painting at this location so I have no excuse for not painting these trees well.   But you did a darn good job for your first time at this site.   I am glad we went there to paint together and we will certainly do it again.    Stu
