Thanks Sharon and Dor for your comments and support. Yes it would be a better composition with an S shape but I painted it from a photo that my sister in law took on the way home from a successful deer hunt. She asked me to paint it close to the original and so I painted a straight road into the painting where the highway was but wanted to keep the feel of her original. I used the same materials and procedure as doing textured panels( instructions given by Stu) but this painting is larger so I heavy gessoed and casined the canvas. This painting does have more texture and color variety than shows in the photo. I used a paint color named Mattison pink that you can't get any more. Its an intense warm pink like a lip stick shade. There are spots of pink in the darks but my camera just reads these as orange. Thank you for liking it. . .  smiles to you both. And Dor, don't worry about hurting my feelings, I value your opinion and I dish out plenty advice so I appreciate it when you comment!

I just had to vote for this because it is so pretty Ann.  (IMHO I would like to see the path  S shaped, beginning somewhere on bottom left) I usually make no comments and hope I have not offended you.  Smiles : ))

Ann, this is awesome.  What do you mean by "textured" canvas?  I love the trees!  What would make it pop more is if you added a tiny bit more of magenta/red in spots, not sure where, but like Richard does.  Maybe in that middle dark tree?  and a little in a cloud... But this is one of my favorite ones!!

Another winner. You are giving me inspiration to paint several renditions of the workshop. Great brushwork, great practice.
