oil on canvas panel, 11" by 14", plein air. This was painted at the Plein Air Convention in Monterey the third evening. I had painted another nocturne the evening before and that was my first ever. The second day of the convention Jason Sacran and John Lasseter IV, both from Arkansas, gave a demo of how to paint a nocturne on the demo stage and then that night and the next took a group of about 25 artists out painting. My "Mitey Brite" LED book lights (Barnes & Noble) worked just great and painting a nocturne plein air was both easier and more fun than I tought it would be.

Michael, I had a great time at the Plein Air Convention. It was a lot of fun painting the two nocturnes and a heck of a lot easier than I thought it would be!! I do like to push myself as much as I can. That second Frank Serrano workshop was really the icing on the cake because I am really staying in my Plein air groove and loving it!!
