Oil painting 16x20 Late Workshop4 Santas elves took over my painting table for toy making and such, so I'm a wee late with this. I didn't let myself look at Richards until I finished.

Wow I really like the smooth golden tones of the sand and the buttery texture of the rocks. The green in the water is also fantastic

No, I painted it first and then looked at Richards palette. I like to try first and then see how he does it better :)

Ann, nice colors in the water!  The tree trunks and foliage are beautiful, they look like survivors of harsh winds and weather.  I also really like the addition of the tree on the right which frames the painting nicely.  Colors in the sand and shadows unify the colors and appeal to me.
