Oil on Canvas Panel 12" by 10" -- touch up per Lori Ippolito's suggestion. I knocked back the pinks and yellows on the tower and dome and church face by scumbling some white with green oxide over the pink and white with dioxazine purple over the yellows. This is very subtle but if you go back and forth between my two paintings you will see that desaturating my sunset colors in the distant buildings sets them back in space and ends all the competition of the tower with the poles in the near water. This is an easy 5 minute fix. I will take down the first painting in another day or two.

Thank you very much Ann. I have been so darn busy painting outdoors that this is my first studio paint of 2015; I am happy that it came off fairly well, because I have to get some more studio paintings done before my open studio in May and for the county fair in July.

Great painting Stu ! My favorite part is the bright warm orange/yellow that is reflected from the warm orange of the boat.

Thanks Silvana. Maybe Monet would have done this if he was going to paint the gondola from this location on the Grand Canal; we'll never know!!
