Thank you Lisa, Craig, Jessica and Pauline.  It's hard to be too tight on a 5 by 7 panel with #4 and #6 brushes, Pauline!!  My larger study was harder to stay loose on, but it needed more detail.  Tom Wezwick is able to keep it very loose on 18" by 24" paintings done entirely en plein aire, but I have not acquired that skill yet (or maybe I never will?).  I'm way too stingy with my paint and time and a little too fussy to take on that project!!!

Nancy, the larger version is the 18 by 24 "Marina Sunset" that I posted here.   I warmed it up and added a lot of detail that was not in the 5 by 7, but is on my photo reference.   Here's my photo reference:

I would love to see the larger version when it is finished. Mcan't imagine it being any more beautiful than this.

Thanks Nancy!  This was my 5 by 7 study to see how my photo reference would look; it looked good enough to upscale it and that painting will be submitted to the Marin County Fair Fine Art Competition next month.

Very, very nice selection of colors. I love the way the sunlight spreads out towards the boats and forward. Indeed a very nice sunset!
