You must be so proud of your son. How wonderful for you and your wife to have been so fortunate...visiting now, in time to see him before he is deployed! It must be so hard on his family when he leaves. I will look forward to seeing those portraits.
Thank you for sharing.

Nancy, I'll send you photos the portraits, but I really don't want to post them. I am working on a painting of another artist on this site painting outdoors, and I will post that. We did have a good time in Wisconsin, and I'm glad we went then instead of in the Fall, because my son found out while we were there that he's deploying to Afghanistan in early October for 3 months and will miss all the holidays. Yeah, they sure are Nancy. We just got back from a whole week of that interaction in Wisconsin, and I delivered this painting and painted each boy a baseball card portrait in his little league outfit. Olivia the youngest (4) had me paint her in her Snow White dress. Lots of fun. Thanks for the compliments. Stu

Adorable, Stu. I love the interaction between the boys and their sister. Aren't grandkids the best?

Thanks Ann. I'm going to do some "baseball card" portraits of the two boys this week while I'm here in Wisconsin; they're pretty jazzed about that. I'll have to figure out something for the little girl. Right now she says she just wants to be a "mom" when she grows up; she's got some pretty interesting poses. I'll be taking a lot of photos. I brought a bunch of canvas panels along. Stu

Darya, thanks for the tip; we'll pick up some mosquito spray for sure and wear long sleeves and pants. I'll keep a lookout for the great ice cream too. My daughter-in-law and the three kids love the painting; my son is not home yet. Stu

Stu, the American Players' Theatre is very good, you'll enjoy it (for as long as you've got enough mosquito spray). Have a wonderful time!
