Thank you all, and Darya, this is a very attractive offer, but we are actually driving up on Sunday and have some tickets for the Summer theater that evening and touring Taliesin on Monday. We will head back to Milwaukee area Tuesday and may stop in Madison, but probably too early for ice cream (or is it ok to eat it any time of day in WI?). Maybe I'll ask you for a rain check; we come back several times a year. Actually, I am going to go up to Cedarburg and paint plein air. We were there a few years ago during their plein air event, and it was great; I have been thinking about coming next Spring and painting in it. Stu

I am sure he will be extremely happy! The kids really look as being of the same family!

Stu, Taliesin is very pretty, particularly the surrounding fields and forest and the river. They started having watercolour classes there taught by UW and other artists -- a perfect place for it. If you  and your wife are iin Madison on Saturday night or Sunday and need some ice cream (or other food, art, etc. tips), let me know, I'd be happy to assist! :-)

Stu, this is delightful! Your son will be honored and pleased for sure. Just looking at your work for the first time. Very, very impressive, and yes I can see the super-realism and therefore the possibility of overworking to get one-more-detail... by the way, since I was the only girl surrounded by three boys, I KNOW what they are thinking, and their sis also...They are thinking " If we eat this fast enough, we can talk/guilt her into sharing hers" She's thinking "Hope mom and dad hurry up and get back so I don't have to give them mine too." Ha, (but truer than not in my life!) Fun...

Pauline, thank you, those looks were what made me select the photo reference from about  20 that I shot unposed of the 3 kids.  Notice that she has more ice cream than they do and really seems to be savoring it.  The middle boy is almost glaring at her and the older boy is a bit indifferent: so actually she knows something they don't yet-- the reason she has more ice cream is that they are eating it as fast as they can--they need to slow down and enjoy the experience.  I know my son will love it and I am excited about giving it to him; we fly to Wisconsin tomorrow and arrive in the afternoon for a vacation week.   Stu

This is lovely Stu  I love the expressions particularly the boys.  Almost like the little girl knows something they haven't figured out yet?  Full of life, movement, lovely light and shadow, and an absolute joy to look at.  Super job, your son is going to cherish this painting!

Sorry Darya, I spelled your name wrong and I can't blame my iPad, because I posted on my computer!    Stu
