Oil on canvas panel, 9" by 12", plein air. The rain the other day left some great clouds and later a tiny bit more rain. As I was driving home, I just had to stop to paint the clouds over Mt. Tamalpais from across the Bay at Point Richmond.

Thanks Lori! I keep my plein air gear in my car, so I am always ready to paint. In my backpack with the painting gear I have a short sleeve and long sleeve black jersey that I can slip on over my shirt when I paint. I usually don't get paint on my shoes and pants. I also carry some liquid brush soap and use this on my brushes so that I don't have to wash them right away. This works pretty well. Of course, nice weather helps!

I love the colour of the water, Stuart.

Laura, you are well aware of my addiction to painting outdoors!!  I just can't drive by clouds like that and not stop to paint them!  Thanks, I was able to really simplify this one.
