oil on textured panel 11" by 14" plein air. Painted this last Saturday. Really tough because of a strong wind trying to blow over my easel. Some of my brush strokes are very loose because my pochade box and panel would shake with the wind. San Quentin Prison is on the other side of the point and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge is behind me.

Sounds like a real challenge Stu. Well done!
Nice design/compo!
Thanks Olivia. Most of my energy was going into hanging onto my pochade box with my left hand and trying to lay down brush strokes with my right. Maybe I have found a new way to put more energy into my paintings! I would rather not make painting in the wind a habit; like you said it is a nightmare. Stu
Great work Stu.it has a great feeling of energy. Painting in the wind is a nightmare
Dynamic! Lovely brush strokes!
You ARE patient Stu! I think I would have given up with the wind... I need quite a lot of free space around me to place what I need for painting... I imagine that in a windy day would be like painting in zero-G!!!! (only, that I suppose eventually everything would land...)
Interesting place to paint. Dramatic composition, use of light against dark values to pump it up. Nice feeling of energy, maybe fighting the wind helped to make this more dynamic.
