Oil on linen panel 9" by 16" plein air. Painted in about 1/2 hour in Frank Serrano workshop with Michael Severin and Laura Xu. The peak is White Mountain in the range just east of the Sierra's painted with the alpenglow just after the sun went below the Sierras. This color lasts about 15 minutes and the shadows and foreground are painted in first with the color added to the mountain last. A real challenge to get the color and light just right.

Thanks Michael.   This was one painting session that I was pretty happy with my painting in accomplishing the quick block in and getting the light right.   Have to try more end of day paintings and sunsets en plein air.
