oil on canvas panel 9" by 12", plein air. Painted at Pt. Richmond up on Crest Avenue. That is San Francisco in the background with Angel Island on the right and Alcatraz in the middle. This time a lot better light as I finished it an hour before sunset. The storm coming in 2 days from now is supposed to bring in 5 inches of rain. Yay!

Thanks Michael. Franks workshop sure helped me. This is my new place to paint! It's on the way back from my medical practice. I'm going to get my Saturday group to paint there one of these weekends. Laura hasn't ever been there, but she's painted a couple of times down below there at the water level. Absolute killer views from there! Stu
You nailed the LIGHT on this one Stu!!! ...very well done!! :)
Thanks Silvana. Stu
Great Stu!
Thank you very much Jon, Jessica, Howard, Ian and Laura. Ian, I deliberately left the foreground very abstract and withour detail to draw you into the painting with my focal paint out by the dredge and the islands in front of the cityscape. I want the viewer way back in the picture chasing that light. I don't want much time spent looking at the foreground other than to appreciate that we are up on a hill.
Stu, nice job on this one! Love your sky and background very much!
Nice job of bringing light to the subject. Agree with Jon, it has a good feeling.
Yes it's wonderful, Stu; I agree with Jon!
Very nice compo/design, Stu + good feeling of light.
