I found a photo with a whole row of gondolas and decided to apply three to the assignment and put Richard's background in. One gondola is a whole lot easier than three. :-)

Hello Nancy, I just wanted to say how much I like your composition and can feel those boats rocking from side to side in the coolness of the fading evening. Well done, I like it very much.
I like this composition. Placement of the gondolas draw the eye to the distant cathedral. While the vertical poles are a counterpoint to the horizontal aspect of the composition. Well done.
Fantastic!
Sure won't take much...and perfect!
I know what you mean, Candi. My hubby used to be a good critic and would point out things I didn't see...even though he was not an artist. Now, I drag a neighbor from across the street to do it. She is the one who saw how wrong my drawing of the boats was, but she missed the horizon line. Wish you could have seen it before I posted it. Thank you for that great observation. I'm going to change it. :-)
I always miss things wrong in my paintings until I photograph them, then they pop out...don't understand why I didn't see them before! I need an editor too, can't ask my husband, he thinks everything is done and really good before I even get started!
This is one of my VERY favorites!
Lovely painting Nancy!!!!
