Oil on textured panel 11" by 14" on the easel. Painted from Bullhead Flat at China Camp State Beach Park between 4:00 and 5:30 PM. A lot of glare on the panel and I will photograph it in the AM and repost after signing it. I was trying to get more vivid color in the mid values, particularly in the foreground but it is hard to see that in this on easel photo without the sun on the panel. No change in my palette, just less desaturation with my color mixing.

Hey you lucky guy ..you got to go back to that wonderful place and paint!!! ....wish I was there. I won't comment on the painting ..other then to say it is looking very good ....until I see the better photo. :))
Thanks Laura; I should have put it in the sun to photograph it. I think my composition and value structure are fine, but I want to see if I have more saturated color. That's what I really need to work on. When I look at your paintings and Michael's on the same page here, I can see that I could push the color a lot more than I do. It's much easier to do that back in the studio than outdoors with all the glare. We'll see tomorrow morning how I did when I re-shoot the photo. Stu
Looking forward to seeing your better photo Stu.
