I loved painting "Amaryllis", not only because it's in watercolour [my favourite medium], but because it's really satisfying to watch each glaze [new layer] add more depth of colour. I work exclusively with transparent colour, laying glaze upon glaze to build rich tones. Not a very patient person, I work on two or three paintings at the same time ... that way I'm not tearing my hair out watching paint dry - a hair dryer is often put to good use too!
I'm trying to figure out how to make a video of my painting process which, if good enough, will be posted on You Tube.... will let you know.
