Sandra, many thanks for your valuable help. I took the painting outside, got it photoed and uploaded to my page. Please check and advise me whether it is better. I am using a 7years old digital pocket camera. I will get a new one at the end of this month. I also have to take time to learn how to edit photos by picaso as you said.  By the way, you give me a chance to see your paintings.I like them very much. I have not found your workshop2 yet , will take time to find it.

Hi Sandra.  Thankyou for your offer of friendship.  I'd love to be your friend.

We have a few similarities. - For a start, we're both Aussies!  I'm living in Brisbane now, but lived in Grafton for 6 years, so I'm familiar with Coffs & Woolgoolga!

You've done a workshop with Lyn Diefenbach!?  WOW!!!  THAT'S impressive!  - She's brilliant!

Hans Pekel is supposed to be in the Arts Department in Grafton all this month.  -  He's really worth checking out.  I have his dvd, and have been at his demo at the Art Shed in West End, here in Brisbane.  He paints with oils, and is SO laid back!  Alla prima, too!  :)  -  Also something for me to  aspire to!

You've got so many paintings finished!  I'm jealous!

X

Hi to all what a wonderful site for people to share their love of painting .
A little about myself I started painting three years ago I joined a local community gallery at Woolgoolga NSW where we paint 3 hours a week during school terms.
I have also attended workshops at Grafton Artfeast with Lyn Diefenbach Oil, Greg Allen water colour, Grace Paleg pastels. I found these workshops great learning curbs but also decided to concentrate on one medium (oils) so that not to confuse myself and learn this medium to its fullest then I hope to be able to use different mediums depending on what I am painting.
My biggest joy would be able to do Alla Prima I have only painted from photos or still life set ups may have to book a trip to New Zealand

How to photograph and edit a photo

Posted on December 27, 2011 at 13:16 6 Comments

Hi to all,
I am struggling with this photgraphing and editing the photos I have tried many different ways of taking photo and editing to put up but they all seem to look washed out and do not show the colours in the shadows .

Any one got any suggestions or wed pages they can help members with, this would be very much appreciated.
