How to photograph and edit a photo

Hi to all,
I am struggling with this photgraphing and editing the photos I have tried many different ways of taking photo and editing to put up but they all seem to look washed out and do not show the colours in the shadows .

Any one got any suggestions or wed pages they can help members with, this would be very much appreciated.

This was brought to my attention a couple of days ago and found it quite interesting.

We have all heard of the rules of three (the black lines)

The golden mean (the red lines)

The diagonals (the blue lines)

and last the golden spiral (the green lines)

Notice approximately  where they intersect.. So which one is correct.

Amazing how dark a camera makes the shadows in the distant hills compared to what I was actually seeing yesterday. In the photo there's barely a half step difference between the…

Thank you Richard

I am having a blast learning from the lessons.  This painting won "Best Landscape" at our Pastel Society's annual show.  These lessons are helping me learn at a much faster rate than I can do on my own!
