I started painting when I was 45 after my 5 children were pretty well gone.  A dairy farm kept me busy as well.  I kept a picture of my husband and 3rd daughter for years with the hope of someday having the ability to paint it and it was my inspiration to finally find someone to teach me a few things.  It took longer than I thought to find that person though, only to find he didn't live far away.  Portraits have been my passion since then. I've done family and some Canadian fallen soldiers from the Afghanistan war free for the families at the moment.

Now I want to do other things more with a looser style.  It's difficult to transport yourself into a different style!  So I'm hoping to get some help here :-)

I do have a website too http://fh-art.net

Francine, your portrait work is very nice.  See if you can post it here on the website to share with others rather than just uploading it.  There are a lot of artists in this group who are extremely helpful and Richard's tutelage is terrific.  To post a picture from your computer click on photos and then on add.  You can edit the photo after adding it and puts tags on it.  But post it like it is one of your workshop paintings, but tag it with a different tag.  Stu
