my attempt at Michael's demo of Kennedy Meadow. I have many versions of the painting. To paint trees right shape, right color with atmosphere is big Challeng. Thank Michael for the great demo. Any comment are highly appreciated.

Thank you Michael so much! You really see the problem here. I am very bad on organizing or planing things ahead. When I am painting I am still not quite organized by pre-mix enough colors. it is very often cause the color inconsistency and also not enough variety. I will remember what you told me here in the future painting. I want to practice more on this kind of landscape painting. This is really a good learning process
Hi Laura, Well done!!! ....and you made it your own! If you do another painting, make sure you block in the distant tree darks lighter then the closer trees. When you paint the lights on top, stay withing that set value that you blocked in with the darks. Your cliff looks great!! and nice recession going on in the distance. Pre mix more greens next time ....light, dark, warm, cool, middle value, dull, bright, etc. (look at the photo of my palette of greens). Mix up some complimentary violets and reds. Pre mix some ocher and raw sienna looking colors... The sunlit rock color ..make sure you put more blue into the mix (to cool it) as it recedes from us. The small mountain on the rear right is a little too warm in relation to the rest of the rocks in the painting. Well done Laura!
You did it Laura! I like your grasses in the foreground and some of your trees are very good. We have to figure out how to make trees and grasses in distance look farther away, atmospheric, besides making them smaller or silvery. This has been a great learning experience for us. We will wait to see what advice Michael gives. Good job!
Like the bluff/cliff face. The meadow's difficult - Micheal makes it look easy, but it ain't as easy as that - well done.
