It is looking good to me Silvana.
I'll see if I'll be able to paint a bit tomorrow....!
Very well done Silvana.
This will be a great painting. I am looking forward to see your finished version Silvana!
It's great getting all this free tuition,Michael. I'm also
beginning to understand composition and the value of
simplicity.
NOW... I feel I am under pressure!!!!! But You've just made me feel real good!!!! :) ! So I'll just enjoy!!!! :)
BTW EVERYONE! This is a great example of how composition is the key to a successful painting. This is just a BLOCK IN ..but look at how the picture already looks like a painting ...it is because of the great composition that she has here!! ...Silvana has massed in 4 value masses of unequal size ..look at how she has tied the darks together!! Her lightest and darkest value is already indicated. Her largest value mass is the mid light area of ground and trees....supported by the smaller dark mass of the dark trees and shadow. Remember, COMPOSITION and VALUE structure is the painting ..this painting will only get better as Silvana continues with the painting process.
:) !!!! That's GOOD NEWS!!!!
Silvana, do you realize you liked the crop because you are getting BETTER at identifying good composition ..having painted for a while now, and been active on this site, you are achieving an "artist eye" for composition ....this is the way it happens ..you begin to "see" things differently ..without even realizing it! ..you have taken a leap forward, congratulations! :)
Thank you Olivia and Steinunn! As I've written in the previous one, I hope to keep it nice...!!!!
So, Michael, YES. that tree on the sweet spot will be my focal point... though it is just by chance.... I haven't put much thinking into it.... I cropped and cropped the image until I liked it and... that is what I liked...!!!!
