It was easier to send the background almost to oblivion!
Maybe should have cooled down oranges in middle distance

Well done Annie.  I am attempting to do the Three Sisters too.  I dont seem to have achieved loose brush work like yours though.

Thanks Stu. Pretty much the same palette. Just used more orange and red gold. Am finding that burnt sienna and ultra make a pretty good dark for these paintings.

Annie, you are really rockin' with the rocks. Yeah, kill that middle ground orange a little with some blue and lighten it a bit for some atmospheric perspective. I think you've found your plein air technique and your own " grand" canyon. Did you use the same palette again or change it for outdoors? Stu
