Maybe should have cooled down oranges in middle distance

Comment by Annie Cullen on May 9, 2012 at 11:15: Thanks Stu. Pretty much the same palette. Just used more orange and red gold. Am finding that burnt sienna and ultra make a pretty good dark for these paintings.

Yeah, kill that middle ground orange a little with some blue and lighten it a bit for some atmospheric perspective. I think you've found your plein air technique and your own " grand" canyon. Did you use the same palette again or change it for outdoors? Stu
