Acrylics on paper. Used Phtalo and Cerulean with Cad Yellow. The colour string at the bottom of each is plus white. I was surprised to see the similiraty between the values, specially when adding white. These are not the best brand of acrylics. I am wondering if with good acrylics the similarities are still so....

Ivory black is fine Silvana.  Consider the black as if it were a very dark blue.

Lol! The yellows are too yellow!!! They'll never be the same value! I'll make more colour charts with phtalo and UB and ochre, orange and carbon black. Actually Linda, can I use ivory black? I don't have carbon black, and I think I've never used black at all! THANK YOU MICHAEL AND LINDA!!!! I'm starting to like these colour charts! I'm wondering what to do with all the bought greens... Lol! I feel I'm becoming a toddler expert!!! :) !!!!

For earthy greens, mix carbon black and Cad. Yellow Light.

Cerulean blue and thalo blue are "basically" the same.  Thalo is more transparent and intense.  Try using ultramarine blue, thalo blue, lemon yellow and cad. yellow  for your charts.  You might want to add yellow ocher and orange  ..just to see what kind of greens they would make ..you might be surprised.  :))  Also, if you are just going to lighten the value one step ...make it a larger step separation.  Make sure every lighter value in your second row is the SAME VALUE ...squint to see this ...this will give you extra practice on identifying values where color is involved ...so you get two lessons for the price of one.  ...how nice is that?!
