Thank you Jessica! I know it's not wow at all, but I was happy I haven't copied it! I found myself thinking of the atmospheric perpective, that yellow disappears in the distance, soft edges in the limit between the sea and sky, that I didn't have to actually paint every flower and every grass... and a bit on the shadow and sunny part of the tree... and I thought, well, I did learn sth this past year!!! THANKS TO ALL!!!

Michael, I will certainly continue with greens + reds... !!!! I was tempted specially when painting the tree, and wanted to add some ochre... but decided to stick to just what I have used on the chart!

Good morning Silvana. :)  Nice composition that moves your eye in a circle.  The birds balance the composition very nicely.  If you are going to mix a green with Phtalo or Cerulean blue, make sure you add some violet or aliz. crimson into the mix ...we must "civilize" the green a little.  You can start the mix with a warmer green by adding crimson into your yellow ..and then adding small amounts of blue until you get the desired value and hue ..NOTE:  get the value FIRST and then the HUE!!  Into your basic green pile, begin to "bend" the hue by making some parts of the large pile, warmer, cooler, lighter, grayer,....etc. etc.  so you have this large pile of various greens before you paint ..then all you need to do is pick up some paint from your various mixes.  Think of finding ways to introduce more neutrals, even in small sketches like this ...it is good practice to see how much you can "civilize"  the colors you use....
