Thank you so much Gina for your lovely comments. I feel I have a lot to learn painting roses in oils so will keep on keeping on! It's encouraging to know that others have struggled as well and, as you say, good to learn from our efforts.
This is a super painting, Fay. We all agree that roses must be among the most difficult flowers to paint. I've done three versions of this workshop & I'm dissatisfied with all of them. So didn't add them to the workshop. However, I learned a lot and isn't that the point of these workshops? You've put yourself out there and this is a super painting. Especially the background..
Thank you so much Jessica. I'm sure your painting wasn't that bad - but I know what you're saying! I would have loved to have had time to start again too but we can put it down to another learning curve!
You've done a good job, Fay - this was no easy subject! I tried this workshop, and even posted my painting for an hour or so, but was so dissatisfied with it that I took it down - don't think I'll have time to work on another one!
Thank you so much Silvana - you are so lovely! I'm certainly not pleased with my effort but having subscribed to the workshop felt I had to put up my painting!!!!
It's a great painting Fay!
Oh Ana you've made my day! I was so appalled at my effort and can't wait to do another painting of roses to redeem myself! Richard's technique for painting roses is so outside my comfort zone but hopefully I've learned something.
It was such a difficult subject especially with the ribbon, but you.ve done a good job.
