Decided to paint this quaint old Citroen again (the first time I set it in its French surroundings) - love the background Richard demonstrated in the workshop. I used the pencil-on-the-back of an enlarged photo of the car as a transfer method - so much easier than drawing it, though not such good practise!

Thank you very much for the encouraging comments, Michael, Cristina & Ngaire!  Not sure if the Citroen feels entirely at home without a tiled roof in the background, but I do love the colours of the tin roof which complement its colours.  It harmonised much better that way as I found by trial & error!

Right on Jessica!!  I really like the way you have kept the color harmony with the introduction of your Citroen!!  Very impressive how you merged the two photos together and kept the unity of the painting ..good going!!!  I love your use of the complementary blue and gray/blues ...I like the way you subdued the elements surrounding the car ..the car is the star!!! ..everything else is supporting it.
