I really like this. You've created an amazing visual space. The big rock in the foreground invites us to clamber over it into the space below the impassable wall. Interesting perspective. I like the way you've controlled the planes on the rocks. And the messy green that drips off the surfaces and leads us through the scene. Love it. There's a dynamic tension between the restraint of the rocks and the violence of the moss. It's like a crime scene in nature!

Yeah, I noticed your dolphin too, but that shadow is nice.  I put a really big pteradactyl in one of mine recently and didn't even notice it.  But, my granddaughter sure did!

On your colors, you could take Richard's advice and add some combinations of warm and cool colors fairly close to each other.  I've tried this a little and it seems to add some texture and balance along with a little more variation -- without over-powering the scene.

Thanks for the feedback guys. At the moment i´m still trying to evaluate the painting. I feel like it is lacking a bit of variation in temperature, and I am not happy with the lowest part of it. I think I might crop a few inches from the lower half.

Ann, very valid suggestions. I did not realize I had painted a dolphin there :) Well the cliff had a dolphin shape so I just painted what I saw. A for the moss, you might be right there about letting some of the rock color come through so that the area reads better. I´m actually trying not to look at the painting to much to get a fresh perspective.

I was most interested in the complexity and color of the scene, and the fact that this is a dried up waterfall which just recently was flowing with rushing water.

WOW Nice soft color combinations in those rocks. Both hard and soft edges angles add interest. Your painting skills  are growing by leaps and bounds. A couple of points the dolphin shape shadow on the left of the green is a little dark and points out of the painting you might want to take down the value or variegate it with some orange brown where the light might hit it. The large green place is confusing. I think it is moss on the rocks, if you allow a little more rock to shoe it would be easier to read. Overall great job !

I like your rocks, they have nice angles, edges and shadows.. But then they are one of my favourite subjects.
