Good going Laura - I can 'feel' it was done from life

Anne, when you say "I feel that I hve lost friends on this site by miss understanding what I wanted to communicate" I must say that I just don't see the point in the site if we can't share and grow. If people are that sensitive - golly! - we can always decide a critique/comment is not valid and discount it - but if no one says anything what are we gonna do? :)

Hi Ann, you make me laugh! Thank you very much! The water was more muddy in reality, but I need to learn how to paint muddy water more artistic looking. I am looking forward to paint with you on Wed!

I have to say Sorry Laura, I just checked out Stu's painting of the same area and the water is the same color as yours. I should have known that the bay would be muddy after a storm.

Love your purplie clouds and sunny trees. Your trees have good variety of shape and value. I like the sunny yellow green, it makes the whole scene warm up and feel happy. Background mountain and sail boats are well done. The water looks abit muddy did you want it that way ? I realize that this is the bay that has silt in the water. You asked me for my humble critique so I tried. I'm a bit leary of sounding more critical than I mean to. I feel that I hve lost friends on this site by miss understanding what I wanted to communicate. I look forward to trying plein air with you again on Wed. :)

Stu, thank you so much for your encouragement! I add boats and soften cloud edges after I got home. I still not very happy for some part of the parting but I can always give another go. It was a great day and I am glad be there.

Nice painting Laura. Those boats look great! I can see how little you had to do to the painting after we finished up on Saturday. I will go ahead and post mine later today. All I did was to sign it and clean up some smudged edges from my panel carrier with my finger tip.

Jessica, thank you very much for your nice comment! It was raining over night and whole morning. Stu got there at 9 and it was raining but when I got the site at noon it was just beautiful, fresh sunny day with beautiful clouds traveling across the blue sky waiting for painting.

Lovely fresh feeling to this, Laura - looks like it was a pleasant, sunny, breezy day!
