Afternoon Ride

Oil on textured panel, 11" by 14". About 4 PM on the hiking and biking path along Corte Madera Creek. This was my painting for the day in the MOS (Marin Open Studios) Plein Air Art Group's paintout. Michael Severin was our visiting artist and did a terrific demo that morning. Laura Xu painted a nice painting with some help from Michael after the demo. The three of us had 2 great painting days in Marin and the group loved Michael's demo; he is now a member!

After running around all morning getting Michael all set up for the demo and going to get bagels and coffee for everyone and then watching Michael help everyone paint, I just got myself into a very relaxed mode and enjoyed painting this. Thanks Jon for your comments; I'm getting a lot better at painting my greens. I think a lot of Michael's step by step demos on this site and his demo this weekend plus painting with him are rubbing off on me.
