This is the third seagull in the series I'm doing. RR posted some lovely pics of them in a variety of backgrounds - good practice - 10 x12" OIL on canvas on board.

Many thanks Michael, (for your lovely comments, not sure about the pro bit??) and Candi, Jessica, Robin, Lanny and Cristina. and thanks Robin, glad that reference has 'stuck' it's a good one to remember.

Candi, I've used so many colours in this piece, from memory - French Ultra, Cobalt, Caribbean Blue, Permanent Rose, Cad Lemon Pale , Transparent Oxide Red Medium and TO Brown in the sand and white of course.  there may be others but I don't recall every colour. I maybe used  Naples Yellow Light too.  Hope that helps.

Beautiful clean colours Glenys - your "looking twice and putting down once" certainly is a great mantra! The texture of Albert's friend is lovely.

Beautiful, Glenys.  I like the way you divided your space .. a pleasing arrangement of shapes. I like how you related the major shape of the gull and post to the picture plane ... using the edges of your canvas very effectively.  You are a pro Glenys!
