amen! - are we not the luckiest people in the world??...even at the end of a long struggle that doesn't quite turn out...still better than spending that time doing aything else!!!...right guys?...sort of like the old adage.."a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day anywhere else"..

Hard to explain this to someone who is not an artist, isn't it?  I know exactly what you mean and it what I feel also.  I really enjoy your very positive comments on other artists work and I try to do the same.  Seeing the way others visualize and depict their surroundings is very much an enjoyable and mind expanding venture.  What a miracle to be able to pick up a paint brush and express your feelings on the canvas. Very much a labor of love and very relaxing work that is good for the mind and body.  This will be my "poetic thought" for the day.  I guess I'll start looking for some oranges for the next challenge.  After a meager start with my potato-like pears last month, I am really getting into these still lifes and the challenge of the composition and chiaroscuro light effects.  Stu

Stu, Gary, Bob, thank you. It's true I do work at it...if you can call doing what you love to do 'work'. Actually it just pulls me along and I'm so fascinated to find out what works that I simply can't resist : )

Dee, I looked at this again after seeing Bob's  and Gary's comments.  Some other things I like about your work are your rendering of cast light and your lost and found edges.  This is a really nice painting.  Stu

Dee you have a wonderfuly distinctive style. I love the soft edges (mystery) and your draughtmanship is of a very high standard, those shapes are well executed. You obviously work hard at your craft.

Love the fresh colours, the atmosphere and the beautiful connecting shadows.

I like it Dee. I like your composition, light effect, value variety, sharp line jug contrast round shape grapes and pear. The beautiful grey background and table get a touch of reflection of  the colour of your setup things. The graduational change of the color and value of those translucent grapes , you did it so skillfully. I like your workshop5 pears. this one is just as nice and joyful as his brothers. Nice Job!!!
