Hi again and thanks again, Ningning! I've read a few discussions of flat light days versus sunny strong contrast days - but there were some rays of sunshine for this scene. An overcast day is interesting but difficult to paint - less value contrast and object more their local color...
Your paintings attempted me to learn to paint a cloudy scene. I do not know how far I can go but I will try. All your paintings of cloudy day are charming and pleasent.
Hi, Sharon. Thanks a bundle. That trees being flashing on and off like a beacon!! I gues I just needed a wider format to have irregular spacing.
Jessica (hi there :) !). Yep, you're right about the roof - I saw that (phew)
David! - you're maybe right, but I just can't bring myself to eliminate that center tree. I sure wish I could paint it better tho'!
I like how you added more perspective to the building on the right, adds to depth of painting. My eye seems to follow the building on the left out of the painting. You might consider putting the tree back in to keep the viewers eye in the painting. Oops, I just saw Stu's comment, looks like we agree
Jon. Looks Good! I like the path. Except maybe get rid of the tree in the middle. But this is just me. Of course ultimately you will have to decide for yourself what looks good to you or you will never be done with the painting:)
Hi Jon - I agree, it's getting more & more beautiful! The colour in the grass and barns is wonderful. Just one tiny thing - I think you changed the angle on the barn roof on the left - I think maybe the perspective is a bit off now & it looks like you need to add the side of the barn or change it back how it was??
Thanks, Stu. I'll run another pass over it...
Jon, put something back in front of the building on the left, even some small trees near it; right now the left third of the painting is boring and could be left out; add some interest to it. The painting is getting better and better. Pump up the value of your path in the foreground to lead into the painting. You are definitely improving it with each fix. Stu
