Very nice. I have not managed to capture that glow of sun yellow in either of mine. I think they are almost finished though. Just give up.
I also really like the foreground and spend a deal of time trying to figure out what all those objects were (which I am sure are just creative brush strokes. he he), but I almost see a truck with a big wall leaning against it. It was fun trying to figure it all out.
I really like these colors. So different from the standard fare, but still so convincing. I also like that you have pumped up the light in the foreground a bit. I am not fond of pure dark silhouette.. I like to see a little bit of what is going on there. Good job.
Thank you all for the comments. I'm humbled. I've admired everyone else's painting for so long and at times thought it would be impossible to 'get it'.
Ann Turner The yellow is Lukas Berlin WM Lemon Yellow (Primary). You have to look for whatever brand you use calls their primary yellow. They are all different. I had actually mixed up a red/orange with magenta and yellow, and added a pinch of that to the yellow.
Wow! Great! The brushstrokes are superb!
And it's a limited palette too! love it!
This is really nice! You've done a wonderful job with the illuminating sun transitioning to the purples and blues without getting mud. Gorgeous!
Beautiful sky ! Love the pink. The foreground is done just right with energetic brush work. I like that golden yellow in the sky. What yellow did you use and did you add a touch of Magenta to get that golden light ?
Thank you all for the comments. It's funny how you see things in the photograph of the painting you don't notice while painting it. Like a muddy blob of yellow in the right cloud, which I'll touch up this morning.
This is really beautiful - interesting foreground!
