Okay I'm getting worried, this is the third bird image I've seen in my pears. I did pick this one up because it looked unique in the bin of pears but it wasn't unit I was painting that it looked bird like again. 6"X6" Oils on Panel.

Thanks for info Denise and thanks for inspiration! It is definitely possible to see in your paintings that you enjoy while painting, and we enjoy to look them.

Love the pear! like how you laid the paint on for all the little blemishes on the skin.

Hey Karlo, thanks! I'm enjoying these pear paintings a lot! Jane Albin referred to the pear as my Muse I really liked that idea and thought they are really speaking to me in that way. I've got a couple of landscapes calling to me right now also and one needs to listen to your Muse.

I just got a SLR digital camera when they were on sale over the holidays, I got a Nikon D5100. It's a beauty but I'm still learning how to use it for taking really good pics of my art. But it seems really easy for landscapes, it's taking beautiful pictures without me knowing much at all. I was starting to spend too much time trying to adjust colors to what I had painted with my 7 yr old canon digital. Your ??s: for the panels I'm using Gessobord by Ampersand they have a pretty smooth surface and it took several little paintings before I got a hang of painting on that substrate. I've been painting on linen panels mostly which I really like. I've just recently started painting with Richards recommendations toward the Archival Oils and they have nice buttery smooth feel which I like a lot, but I purchased a bunch of large tubes of Gamblin oils recently also so I suspect it will be a while before I can switch over completely. Your other question is about the medium which I went over from Richards recommendation again, its the Walnut Alkyd Medium another great product I just love now. Richard seems to have been a Big influence on me lately.

Thanks Again.

Thanks Stuart and Stephen, besides never winning anything, I don't think I've been the queen of anything either.

I found these pictures looked a little washed out but when I went to View Full Size they looked right to my eye. So I've just discovered a little saturation has helped this and also on the previous pear. I had been working with raw files on my camera and for some reason that seems to affect the image here, I think don't get that though?

Denise, another stunner. In my book, you are the queen of pears. Not everyone has to finish a small still life in 10 minutes. None of your pears are overworked. They are aa quite realistic. Stu
