Lovely painting, Maria. You were able to create a soft scene and still managed to create so much movement and wave force. Well done!

Thank you Carolyn and Jessica for your helpful comments.I see what you mean Jessica, I'll play round with that today.I'm grateful for any comments that will help me see where I can prove. This will make me more aware next time I paint rocks.  I'm glad I decided to do this in oils and not acrylics. Although I have to remember to wipe my brush down often as I have been known to end up with a muddy mess. Think I was lucky with this painting.

As Jessica noted, very nice softness to your work Maria. Also, nice clear color and with complements that is quite a feat in itself!  As we know, the most difficult lessons provide the best experience, yes?

Really lovely, Maria - lovely colour & a pleasing softness in your painting!  The rocks on the beach are so well done!  I just see one tiny thing you might want to change?  On the big rock in the wave, there is a curved line on the front section of rock - maybe you could break that line into straighter sections, more like your foreground rocks? Beautiful painting!
