Divided a cheap canvas in 4 with masking tape & began with the orange block for Workshop 32 (broken colour) which I didn't have time to do before. I'm using a simple cardboard shadow box. Going to try to do more of these - maybe I need a stronger lamp though; not sure. The rose was much too difficult for now!

Thanks for your encouragement, everyone!  Amazing how difficult it is to paint such simple things!

We should all return to the "basics" now and then to reinforce what we already  know,  and to discover new things we don't.  :)  I, for one, constantly revisit painting my color charts.  I am currently trying to learn how to break a painting down into LESS major shapes as I can!! ..not easy and very frustrating at times.

Just great!!!! I've got to start in basics.... feel I'm missing some firm foundations!
