Black Balsam - Loeb Trail View from the Top
I went hiking with my wife the other day. I had my trusty little sketch book 3x5 with me and sketched this scene in 3 minutes. Later, I painted this in my studio from memory and the sketch. I was surprised at how much I remembered.

Thanks everyone. Not sure what a three spot composition is but would probably make some changes in that area if I were to do a bigger painting of this

Nice use of gentle color. The textures and slight variety of color and value in the rock/dirt area is very nice
