Thank you for your kind comments and feedback. You are right, the eye does need a reflection to give it life. It kind of looks like a black hole. The photo reference I used didn't have any reflection and was very blank. Another reason to not be a slave to the photo. Silke, I did take a look at your elephant painting. Fantastic work. Love the energy that comes off the brush work.

That is gorgeous! I wish you had done that bigger! And I agree with Sandi. The eye looks a bit dead. Maybe put some a tiny bit lighter and browner color in a curvy stroke to the bottom right and tiny grey reflection to the top left of the eye. I did an elephant, too about 18 month ago. You could take a look at my pictures. But I really love your textures.
