Thanks all for your comments.  I believe that I did not simplify the dock area enough which takes away some of the focus of the boat.  I will redo this painting and incorporate all constructive ideas.  Jim

Wonderful rendering of the boat and water in the foreground.  Lot going on from top of dock to the background which tends to compete with the main subject.

I love the foreground , boat and blue water and how it recedes back to a lighter blue. but the water in back of the dock is puzzling.

Love the boat and the colours of the foreground, I would love to see you being even braver with brighter golden light coming from the back of the picture From this arm chair critic :)
