Very nice!
Hi Darlene. The visual poetry of your painting ... . the peaceful, melancholy mood of twilight over a slow moving river, is nicely done by your use of color, dominant direction and value. The jagged lines of your distant trees, and the busyness of your rocks, take away from the visual poetry you are trying to achieve. Try to avoid equal masses .. such as the masses on each side. Also try to avoid centering a mass , and creating equal intervals .. easy to remember, but hard to do. The rocks do not relate to the water ... maybe glaze a transparent blue over them? BTW, jagged lines are nervous lines and make the viewer jittery and anxious .. not very good for the mood you are creating.
awesome !!!
