Oil on 140-lb. Cold-pressed Watercolor Paper - 6" x 6" - I decided to do a pear painting after having done the four challenges of Workshop 5 to see what the result would be and to apply what I learned in the workshop. That's why I titled the painting "Challenge No. 5."

Nice job!

I have played around with watercolor paper and oils as well but unsure of how to frame it. If painting a final painting on wc paper, would you affix it to a board with mat medium?

Thanks, rosie

Hi Suzy.  Thanks.  Yes, the 10-minute studies forced me out of my "box."  They were difficult, but paid off.  I love watercolor paper for oil, as there's a bit of absorbency in contrast to canvas panels or canvas sheets.  I use canvas panels when painting outdoors.

I like the color in your studies.................   I'll be waiting for your "final."

Your pear is very classy, my 10 min. studies were difficult but have prepared me to think of trying a final, I too used watercolor paper for the studies and liked it for the small size.
