Excellent !!! If I were you and want to improve something, I will paint another one. Li
Thanks Stuart for your comments. I painted the cloud studies on a 12x12 canvas, so I guest I overlooked the fact that I centered this one in the 6x6 framework. It would have been better if I had offset it a bit and varied the shape as well.
Nita, I brought this into photoshop and did a check on my values and found they were indeed a little to close and that caused a loss in depth. The distant mountain should have been a bit lighter and the horizontal foreground lighter than the distant mountain.
This was a great exercise - hopefully next time I'll improve. It was the first time I concentrated on clouds.
Nice clouds, but way too symmetric with focal point dead center and rising--sucking your eyes right out of the painting. The other 3 have a much better composition. Brushstrokes are very nice and color harmony good. Stu
I like the vertical feel of this cloud. I really gives a sense of how a storm is building. I don't get as much depth here though. Good work.
