Yes, thanks very much. It was also painted from a photo. I see what you mean on the land. I did fiddle with this picture a lot actually.
I also thing that sky, clouds, light is "my thing" :-) I love them. I will watch them with attention to the variety of colors in the dark.

Your thing just might be skys and clouds! This is a good. I have recently learned (after I painted Majestic Canyon with such dark shadows), that even shadows have life in them. If you were standing and looking a this sky and then looked at the land, your eyes could see "something" in the forground. So perhaps just a little indication of some bushes or grass would help fill in the dark in the foreground. What if you went out side tonight just before it was so dark you could not see or as dark as you think this painting is.......look at the land close to you......how much can you see? // Where I messed up in my painting of Majestic Canyon - I was painting from a photo. Later I learned that the camera makes the shadows darker than they really are. I started really looking at shadows. I could see details in the shadows! Hope this helps. Ro
