Wow! Love this! Wish I could get even looser strokes like you've done here. It's so hard to push myself in that direction after so many years of traditional oils where I was taught to paint everything to look exactly like a photo. Impressionism is my favorite style now and when it's done right like you have here, I can't stop looking at it! Lovely!
It is just amazing!!!
Lovely! (can't vote yet ;D) - and thanks for sharing your experiences, Donna!
Your design on this painting is spectacular!!! You brought your painting down to the bare essentials ..with a nice dark/light notan type design!!! ..very impressive Donna.
What you see is a file photo but it is my cold paradise. I have done it in pastels but never oils before. I went outside 3 days ago and wrote down the colours I was seeing as I knew the moment would pass very quickly. Sunset is at 4:30 pm now and the darkness descends quickly. I set up yesterday and although the fuchsia was not there, there was cotton candy , peachy looking skies that contrast with the blues of the snowy landscape. Shades of viridian hint through the cold blues. Just a moment in time captured in my memory and now my painting.
