24,5 x 20,0 cm, watercolours on 300 g/m² Canson Montval Watercolourpaper.
I just had to try it a last time. I'm not good with watercolours but I think that this isn't so bad at all.

Hi Patricia, thank you for your comment. Maybe I should use watercolor more often, just to loosen up. The problem is as you say, painting to slavisly what's on a photo. And sometimes I find it hard to get inspired, so maybe it's a good idea to use on those moments watercolour.

Pauline, thank you for your nice comment, my favorite size of canvas is 24 x 30 cm and 20 x 20 cm especially now I can't put my paintings on the wall after I moved house. So they all had to find a place in my tiny "studio", a small room only used for storage. My biggest 'painting' was the colourchart that I've made, but I'll try a other big painting one of these days :)) It still stand on my easel, the only place I could find so I can use my chart ^_^.

Rita,

Watercolour is a wonderful medium to use.  Just flow and enjoy the process....  You probably painted the trees blowing in the wind subconsciously, which is a wonderful way to paint.   I often paint abstractly, just to see the underlying message of my subconscious mind....  It's actually a lot of fun, because you learn also to paint intuitively and not slavishly...  :))

love all your colours in this one Rita.  You mentioned to Ruby about having misgivings about large white canvases.  I know what you mean, i've taken to smaller ones just recently, its not so daunting and more achievable ecspecially when your in new and unknown territory. :-))

Thank you, Ruby for your nice comment. I like watercolours and made in the past some beautiful flowers. I painted two small landscapes before but this one is big, well at least for me :)) I would love to paint a really BIG landscape but I'm always afraid not to know how to prevent myself from painting tiny and putting in great amounts of details. I've a misgiving that I'm afraid of the big empty white paper or canvas...:))
